Stormont Road, London

  • In the heart of Clapham Common, our latest London project transforms a traditional terraced house by creating a contemporary, open-plan ground floor that maximises usable space and enhances the homeowner’s entertaining lifestyle. By strategically removing internal walls and introducing a central courtyard, we've crafted a living environment that balances modern functionality with architectural elegance.

The design preserves the home's historical character at the front, maintaining original period features, while the rear extension embraces a contemporary approach. A spacious kitchen and living area now flow seamlessly together, with Crittall-style doors creating a fluid transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Large roof lights flood the open-plan area with natural light, and the recycled London Stock brick extension softens the architectural intervention.

Carefully designed to comply with local planning regulations, the extension allows for external dining and provides a framed garden view. We are progressing the developed design stages, with a view to construction starting on-site early spring of next year. This project demonstrates how thoughtful design can reimagine urban living, creating spaces that are both functional and inspirational.
