Wimbledon House, London

  • The property can be found within the Wimbledon North Conservation Area. The site to the rear slopes benefiting from spectacular views to the iconic Wimbledon tennis lawns.

Our clients approached us to help them undertake a fairly daring design, which captivates the traditional characteristics of the property, whilst also providing a warm, simple yet elegant addition that enhances the family living environment. Spaces are to be subtly functionally organised to have a natural flow and cadence that reflects how their days are spent together, but also giving their family home the ‘wow’ factor.

There will be a focus on quality materials and workmanship with careful attention to design detailing. The proposal has been carefully designed to respect of the host building and enhance its characteristics. The new extension will use white handmade clay linear long format bricks that will complement the existing but also compliment between the original house and the new extension. The pergola in keeping with the architectural concept forms a more intimate courtyard that experienced through openings yet allowing for retractable awning for shade above.

The doors and windows will be Crittall style framed giving distinction to the extension while being complimentary to the house and heritage context.

We are progressing with the construction stage on site. More updates to follow in the upcoming months.
