‘Wimbledon House’ Extension Takes Shape with Handmade Long Format Bricks

With loft works now substantially complete at our Wimbledon House project, attention has shifted to the groundworks. Where the arrival of the white handmade clay linear long format bricks on site and construction of the walls marks a very exciting moment.

These bricks serve as the perfect bridge between eras, complementing the existing structure while subtly distinguishing the new extension. Each handcrafted brick adds unique texture and character, creating clean, modern lines that speak to contemporary design. The white hue pays homage to the original structure’s aesthetic while introducing a fresh, bright aspect to the extension.

This thoughtful choice of materials will demonstrate how modern extensions can respect and enhance the character of older homes, crafting a cohesive narrative in brick and mortar.

More updates coming in the fortnight site visits.
